FreeTranslator Help

How to use FreeTranslator:

Install FreeTranslator

FreeTranslator does not require installation. You just need to copy and paste it's folder where you prefer.
However it is necessary to install Microsoft .NET Framework to run FreeTranslator

Add/Delete Dictionaries

Add a dictionary (example German-English):
1) Download German-English.zip file and unzip it
2) Copy the file named German-English and paste it to the folder "Dizionari"
3) Run Freetranslator. Go to the "File" menu and click on "Select Favourite Dictionaries"
4) A window appears. Check the "German-English" option and close the window.

Delete a dictionary (example German-English):
1) Run Freetranslator. Go to the "File" menu and click on "Select Favourite Dictionaries"
2) A window appears. Uncheck the "German-English" option and close the window.
3) If you want to permanently delete the dictionary, go to the folder "Dizionari" and delete "German-English" file".

 Translate a word

There are two ways to translate a word:
1) Search on favourite Dictionaries: Search on all selected dictionaries (see "Add a dicrionary" section)
2) Search on a single Dictionary: Search on a selected dictionary from the combo-box.

Type the word you want to translate and press "Translate".
If there are translations of the word, these will appear in the translation box.
If there isn't the direct translation of the word, you can try to translate using the Soundex Function or search on Dict.org

If there isn't the direct translation of the word, you can try to translate using the Dict.org Search
To translate on Dict.org click on the link More Results (dict.org).

 Soundex Function

The Soundex Function is a way to find similar words to the typed one.
For example, if you search the word "mother" but you type "mather", FreeTranslator will not find a correct translation.
Using the Soundex Function, FreeTranslator will try to find similar words to the typed one, that are "madeira, mater, meter, metre, metro, mother, motor, motorway".
Just click on the word you need to translate and the translation will appear.

NOTE: If, using the Soundex Function, you click on a word and FreeTranslator reply "No words found.", please contact me telling what dictionary do you use and the word you can't translate.

Why do you put advertise banners?
FreeTranslator is Free... but servers aren't... :-)
Then, to let FreeTranslator to be free of charge, I decided to put Advertise Banners on my translator.
